Using your debit card it is very easy to reset your UPI pin in Phonepe. Because to set or reset UPI Pin you need to enter the last 6 digits of your Debit/ATM card and also the expiry date.

But if due to any reason you don't have your debit card and you want to change your UPI PIN. A lot of people don't keep a debit card because of the additional charges levied by banks.

1) Contact the Bank Branch 

You can contact your bank branch to reset your UPI PIN without a debit card. However, my request was denied. And the executive said that at present it is not possible to get UPI PIN without a debit card.

I tried this last year, the rule may have changed. You can also contact your bank branch to check whether or ot it is possible to get UPI Pin without a debit card.

2) Use Help Section in the Phonepe App

If you want to use UPI services without paying the annual debit card charges then it is better to open a payments bank savings account. You can open a Paytm Payments Bank saving account.

With video KYC, you can open your bank account in a few minutes. Your virtual debit card will be available instantly on the Paytm app which can be used to set your UPI PIN. You can also link this account to other apps such as PhonePe and Google pay among others. 

 

How to Set UPI PIN on PhonePe

• Open the PhonePe app. 

• Visit My Money option at the bottom of the home screen.

• Tap on the UPI Bank Accounts option

• Bank Accounts saved will be displayed. 

• If you are setting the UPI PIN for the first time, you will see ‘Set the UPI PIN’ option.

• Select the option

• Now enter your Debit Card details (last 6 digits and expiry date) 

• Click on Continue.

• Enter the OTP to verify.

• Set your 4 or 6 digit code

• Reenter the code to confirm

• You have set the UPI PIN.

• The changed PIN will works in other UPI apps as well. 

• The UPI PIN is linked to your bank account.

• For every bank account, there would be a different UPI PIN. 

• UPI PIN  would not work for other bank accounts.

• UPI PIN set for a bank account works in all UPI apps.
