author Sameer Content Writer

The Delhi government has allowed license holders to provide home delivery of liquor. The amended excise rules allow delivery of liquor booked via apps or websites.

However, the important thing to note is that only stores with L-13 or L-13F licenses will be allowed to deliver liquor to your home. The neighborhood liquor store will not to allowed to provide home delivery.

The L-13 license has been amended to allow home delivery of liquor only through mobile apps or websites.

However, Delhi Government is yet to issue a license in this category.

This step has been taken to avoid the spreading of coronavirus as we have seen crowds outside wine shops. Supreme court last year had said that to avoid the crowding at liquor stores home delivery of liquor could be considered. Soon after Maharashtra, Odisha, and West Bengal allowed home delivery of liquor via apps such as zomato, BigBasket, and Swiggy.
