Vodafone 299 postpaid plan launches with 20GB data, free calls, and roaming. Vodafone RED basic plan to take on Jio Rs 199 postpaid plan. This is the cheapest offering of the telecom operator for postpaid subscribers.

Vodafone has launched a new plan is the red postpaid series. This new postpaid plan is priced at Rs 299. Vodafone 299 red basic plan comes with benefits like 20GB of data, free calls, roaming, 100 SMS, and one year free subscription to in-house store of video, music and movie content (Vodafone Play).

The new 299 postpaid plan of Vodafone will offer unlimited calling, 20GB data, 100 SMSes, free roaming and 12 months of free Vodafone Play subscription. Recently, the telecom operator had revamped existing postpaid plans to offer more data and free Netflix subscription for one year.

In comparison, Jio's new postpaid plan comes at Rs 199. The benefits of Jio 199 postpaid plan include 25GB of data, unlimited voice calls, 100 daily SMS, alongside free access to the company's premium suite of apps.

Note: The data rollover is a useful facility of the Vodafone 299 postpaid plan. This service is the new norm in the telecom industry. It allows subscribers to store unused data of previous month thus providing additional benefit. Airtel also offers data rollover in its My Infinite postpaid plans.

Vodafone Rs 1299 plan comes with 100GB data with rollover facility of up to 500GB. There is also unlimited local and STD calls, unlimited roaming, 100 ISD minutes, alongside two months of free subscription to Netflix and one-year to Vodafone Play and Amazon Prime.

The cheapest postpaid plan of Vodafone is competing against the newly launched Jio 199 postpaid plan. There is very little to choose between the two as the differences are minute. However, a loyal Vodafone customer may not mind to pay Rs 100 extra to continue using the services of existing service provider.

Vodafone Red Basic plan also comes with data roll out facility. The rollover data service allows vodafone subscribers to carry up to 50GB data. The unused data of previous month is automatically added to the next month. Reliance Jio is not providing data roll out but postpaid subscribers get additional data at Rs 20/GB after exhaustion of the monthly data limit.

As per the ongoing trend, similar to Vodafone latest offers on 4G, we can expect a new postpaid offer from Airtel as well. Currently, Airtel myPlan Infinity postpaid plans start Rs 399 onwards.
