Sharmaji Namkeen is a tribute to Rishi Kapoor. The 120-minute film is funny as well as sluggish at times. This slice of life movie is a fitting send-off to Rishi Kapoor. The idea of two actors playing the same character sounds like a risk but Paresh Rawal adds his uniqueness to Sharmaji. 
We have to say Rishi Kapoor as Sharmaji fits better in the character and reminds us of his roles in Do Dooni Chaar and Rajma Chawal.
