IPL Auction 2022: Date, Timing, Players List & More

IPL Auction 2022 Date & Time

Recently, BCCI finalized the IPL 2022 auction date. The event will kick off in Bengaluru. IPL 2022 auction date is 12 & 13 February. During the 2 day auction, top Indian and foreign players will go under the hammer. You can also watch the live-action take place on Star Sports and Hotstar.

Due to the participation of 10 teams, the total number of games will be 74. The teams have been divided into groups. BCCI has reserved April to June schedule for the 15th edition of IPL.

IPL 2022 Mega auction will start at 11 AM. The auction will be telecasted on Star Sports. You can stream the live auction on Disney+ Hotstar. IPL auction 2022 would be a mega event because of the addition of two new teams Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad Titans.

IPL 2022 Auction Rules

Ahmedabad and Lucknow are the two new teams to participate in IPL 2022. The existing eight teams can retain a maximum of four players from their 2021 squad. Each team is allowed to retain a maximum of three domestic and two overseas players.

Meanwhile, the two new teams have the privilege to pick 3 players before the mega auction. They can buy a maximum of 2 Indian and 1 foreign player.

The use of the RIght to match card has been scrapped for the upcoming mega auction.
