The second season The Boys sets up the bursts of blood, the absurd, cringe laws and the bothersome dimensions of its celebrity superheroes to even more majestic heights.

Is the viscera-spraying rampage complimentary? Yep. But The Boys' compellingly grey roles, timely themes and the stark, ironic world remain to be a humdinger of medicine for anyone with Marvel lethargy.
