It comes with some subscription though as the service will be available from 9PM to 7AM and it will be exclusively for the landline customers only. It may be seen as a marketing booster but for customers it will be a delight. 

The service will be effective from May 1st and if you have a BSNL 'ring-box' at home then you will be enjoying the whole spectrum of the FREE cals on other network operators as well (applicable for mobile phones too).

According to BSNL :

"BSNL has introduced unlimited free calling during night hours from its landline phones to all landline phones and mobile phones of all service provider's network on all India basis from 1st May,".

This initiative covers, all major landline plans pertaining the rural and the urban areas. BSNL has ensured that each and every customers should have enjoy this free calling and hence COMBO plans has been covered in it as well. The reason for this move is actually the fact that BSNL has lost the highest number of Landline customers to Airtel (TRAI reports). So the part where BSNL can compete over Airtel were the call rates, so this move has restored the faith of customers in BSNL. As per as TRAI, the company had over 1.66 crore landlines at the end of February.

Still BSNL is the king in India in the Landline market with approx 63% share. More or Less now having a landline won't just provide a BroadBand connection or will serve as an address proof.

Company has sent media Invites stating : 

 “Since time travel is not an option, block your date for 18.12.2014. Play God” As mentioned above, Cyanogen has teamed up with Micromax in an exclusive tie-up where the former will only support Micromax’s forthcoming YU smartphones. In other words, the company said that it will not support “any other devices shipping to India running on Cyanogen.”

Truth to be told, Micromax is already in a law-war with OnePlus pertaining to the exclusive tie-up of Cyanogen in India. The interesting fact is that the OnePlus One was launched in India through Amazon only. 

Anyways Yu have been extensively promoted and is enjoying a dedicated webpage and a dedicated Facebook page with more than 100,000 likes on it. You can also visit Amazon's exclusive page for it to subscribe.

Two brilliant Indian research students Indrajeet Bhuyan and Saurav Kar, have demonstrated that you can crash your recipient's whatsapp by sending a message with just 2,000 special character.

 What actually happens is that Whatsapp in its coding presumes that a message will contain less than 2000 special characters. But as a matter of fact, 2000+ character weigh more than 2KB of data crashing the recipient's whatsapp.

The recipient have to delete the entire conversation otherwise the app will keep on closing by itself (as shown in the video). This could be a bad joke for your friends but if you wish to delete your entire conversation with an annoying person, just send him something special in his/her textbox . 

If you have Whatsapp version '2.11.431 and 2.11.432' then this may affect you. Also this whole thing seems effective with Android versions up to 4.4.

Micromax, an archrival of Samsung has stepped in to battle the Xiaomi fever. Today on 19th November, Micromax launched its latest brand 'Yu' which will be launched online just like Xiaomi.

'Yu' is a product of Yu Televentures which is a 100% owned subsidiary of Micromax. Mixcromax wants to make 'Yu' as the best in quality hence it has partenered Cyanogen to keep a high performance software. Though the first handset will be launched in December, there are no accurate data of the price and device configurations. 

Why it is something crunchy for online retailing?

Earlier when Samsung & Nokia were ruling the Indian smartphone market they haven't had expected a Gurgaon, based startup to eat their share. While Nokia getting crushed by Samsung Micromax was leading in market share in a few customer segments of smartphone user. This time when Xiaomi is ruling online retailing with flash sale to prove its dominance, entering of Micromax in the war may be fatal for the Xiaomi's market share in India. Due to the inability of fulfilling demands where customers are facing a few battery issues and allegations of data mining by Indian Airforce, Micromax will have an upper-hand over the whole scenario.

The rise of the Micromax with Cyanogen

In 2014, Micromax surpassed Samsung by shipping largest number of phones by any mobile phone manufacturer in a single quarter in India. On 24 January 2014, Micromax became the first Indian mobile company to start sales in Russia.
