Flipkart is waging a war against all the heavily priced products with its app only sale, ‘Big Billion Day’ Sale, where it is expected to get around half a billion dollar of GMV to be sold during the 5 day sale festival. Last month it has been estimated to have gathered around $200 million in GMV.
The Big Billion day has been an app only agenda of Flipkart in the purview of getting maximum number of sales and visitors coming from mobile. Anyways, the firm grip on the customers for purchase has been made with the eloquent discount figures on various products and categories.

The hopeful figure of $500 million is very large for Flipkart in light of the other hefty sales on leaders of ecommerce like Snapdeal, Amazon and more. With all the big players competing against one another, its really very hard to get maximum revenue or to exceed the expectations of the investors. However, it would be delightful to see as in who will get the largest bite of the sales pie.
Kindly note that GMV stands for Gross Merchandise Value which is the value of the goods sold on an ecommerce platform without factoring in discounts and returns, these discounts and returns are not generally disclosed in publicly.
