What is the whole case?

The case was about a women sandals 'Canvera Wedges' which shows a MRP on back as Rs.399 however the price listed on the site was same i.e. Rs.399 strangely after a 50% discount. The MRP stated for the product was Rs.799 on Flipkart but the true price was clearly visible on the back of the sandal.

The Reaction was outrageous as the company got severe negative reviews from users. However Flipkart came back to apologies for the whole incident and stated that it has removed and banned the seller on its platform. This case has really let down the trust of so called 'SALE' on online sites and has given a very bad impression of Flipkart. 

Anyways, Kudos to Flipkart on reacting this much fast over this issue.

Snapdeal.com recently announced that a large number of sellers i.e. 30,000 out of a hundred thousand are now active users on Seller Zone app. It is in a way a user control panel for sellers of Snapdeal controlled by the thumb.

Seller Zone App is a management dashboard for the sellers of Snapdeal.com where sellers use to list their products online in order to sell them. According to Snapdeal ; The Seller Zone App is the " India’s first ever mobile managed online marketplace application for sellers to list products on Snapdeal.com."

Now the question arises as in what kind of use this whole application launched by Snapdeal is of use. Well, it is more or less like the kind of user friendly platform which ecommerce sites tries to pull for users to give a brilliant experience of shopping. With such a liquid listing experience, the sellers would be more interested in selling through such Snapdeal rather than a complicated portal. This ultimately results in more number of sellers listing more number of products which in turn gives a competition resulting in more discounts (and shoppers love it).

Snapdeal CEO and co-founder Kunal Bahl said in a statement.

According to the sales reports generated by Snapdeal.com, there are nearly 700 bikes which were sold in less than 70 hours. The record also shows that during the peak of the sale, Snapdeal was selling almost one bike per minute. Hero Moto Corp understood the power and reach of online retailing and entered into the battle with no one to compete with in the category as it was first of its own type in the category.
