The fearsome competitor of India’s telecom king Airtel is ready to set out Fourth Generation war by March, 2016. According to an official statement from the Global service provider on Monday, Vodafone will provide 4G services in all Metros by March, 2016. Mr. Suresh Kumar, operations director – south, Vodafone India said:

“Vodafone India will increase the intensity of its 4G services rollout and by March 2016 it will be launched in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, a statement said on Monday. Testing of 4G services in these locations has already commenced successfully and Vodafone India has partnered with leading global technology service providers for the network roll-out, The company has rolled out its 4G services in Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. With this launch, Vodafone 4G services is now present across 10 towns in the state. The 4G services have the potential to revolutionize the mobile experience through powerful innovation that impacts how we work and live, Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of largest 4G network having presence across 19 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer”

The announcement talks about the ‘testing’ of the service in initial phase. As a matter of fact, the test run is already happening through Airtel. The campaign of Airtel is quite popular and Airtel 4G girl is the face of the service now. The acceptance, accessibility, market penetration, profits and other factors will determine the future of the service in India. While millions are struck on 2G and 3G rates are like diamond for fiancée, 4G may get trapped into a niche users.

The roll out in the metro is the best thing for Vodafone initially and as we always say, India is a country of limitless potential and limitless revenue in terms of telecommunications market.

According to BSNL :

"BSNL has introduced unlimited free calling during night hours from its landline phones to all landline phones and mobile phones of all service provider's network on all India basis from 1st May,".

This initiative covers, all major landline plans pertaining the rural and the urban areas. BSNL has ensured that each and every customers should have enjoy this free calling and hence COMBO plans has been covered in it as well. The reason for this move is actually the fact that BSNL has lost the highest number of Landline customers to Airtel (TRAI reports). So the part where BSNL can compete over Airtel were the call rates, so this move has restored the faith of customers in BSNL. As per as TRAI, the company had over 1.66 crore landlines at the end of February.

Still BSNL is the king in India in the Landline market with approx 63% share. More or Less now having a landline won't just provide a BroadBand connection or will serve as an address proof.

Its online and offline market which Xiaomi is tapping. With Flipkart it has already created a crater in the market which are now a stamp of flash sale. Now its time to tap in Offline market as well, but with help of online market. A customer have to first register online and the it have to visit nearest store to pick up the handset which is 4G enabled. 

2. Xiaomi is playing safe now

Entering in a market with a newly established but star performing company would give suspicions (ban on Xiaomi) while entering with a Godfather which is already in support of Govt. and is a leader in communication will give a superb push to again start the whole wheel of demand. 

3. 4G rates

Very, very important point to be discussed. We all know that you can find very high data rates on Airtel (which was also about to introduce “VoIP”). Here is the list of the data rates provided by Airtel for the 4G plan. You have to have atleast 500MB 3G data for updrage. Airtel will provide the Redmi Note at 133 stores across Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi-NCR.

Airtel postpaid users in Bengaluru, where Airtel already has a 4G network, can get up to 10GB free 4G data by logging on to company’s Airtel Live website via their Redmi Note 4G smartphones.

Airtel, the leading Indian network provider has imposed a thrash on its internet users by announcing that its subscribers have to pay an extra amount of money if you are making calls on online service providers like Skype, Viber etc. Read "Airtel, India’s best network provider is facing troubles with its 3G service"

 This is actually the first time in India when any mobile operator has charged an extra amount for 'Voice Calls Over Internet' (VoIP). So basically a service provider which is already facing serious issues of internet speed delivery will be charging more for the free service provided via online for VoIP.

The charges are still something which are further more hurting. VoIP would be at standard data rates of 4p/10 KB (3G service) and 10p/10 KB (2G service).

Airtel said in a statement.

”We have made some revisions in the composition of our data packs, and will offer VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) connectivity through an independent pack that will be launched shortly. Our customers can continue enjoying voice calls over data connectivity by opting for this VoIP pack, or simply use VoIP services on pay-as-you-go basis,”

Mobile network operators have been spending a large sum of money in promoting and branding rather than technology enhancement. Anyways in era of technical advancement, we should be expecting revolution in data field not evolution in charges

Airtel, the pioneer in mobile network in India is unable to provide a flawless 3G service in its Delhi circle. The problem has been there for quite a few days, but recently the problem has been escalated and now the users are facing a lot of issues everytime they use 3G. 

A slow internet always give frustration specially when you have paid for a better on but still see buffering circle on your screen. As a premium brand which charge more than any other service provider in this area, Airtel has to give better service. Its price for premium and hence customers have to be benefited.

The closest rival delivers better service for less price than that of Airtel. Now its time for airtel to provide better service for the money it take. Its not a good signal to the market by a leader who is about to introduce 4G service at a bold level in India.
