During the period of nine days of Navaratri, We all pray, and we pray to dissolve the sins and seek blessings of 'Maa Vaishno' (Mother Vaishno) but not many of us know about her origin. Today on the occasion of auspicious Navaratris, we have bought you the legend of the origin of Maa Vaishno devi.
It all starts on Planet Venus:
When Goddess Sati (incarnation of Adi-parashakti) sacrificed herself with Yogic power, Lord Shiva in grief placed her on her Trident and started roaming around the Earth. Lord Vishnu in order to calm Lord Shiva and to restore order in world, started cutting Mother Sati's lifeless body into 108 parts, only 52 fell on Earth and rest 56 fell on other planets of Solar system. Planet Venus was the one where hand of Goddess Sati fell.
The regime of terror
Eternal Lord Shiva got his half in form of Mother Parvati which is the complete incarnation of Adi-Parashakti. In the beginning of Treta-Yuga there was a demon named 'Mur' who got a boon from Lord Brahma that he cannot be killed or defeated by the Trinity, gods or anyone born on Earth. Thus on defeating the gods he started following Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu then took exile on Planet Venus.
The Incarnation
Goddess Laxmi in order to protect Lord Vishnu, went to Mother Parvati and asked to incarnate as Mother Laxmi has already incarnated as 'Vadavati'. So in order to protect the world Mother parvati along with soul of Mother Laxmi and Knowledge of Mother Saraswati, combined together and created their physical form as the three pindis on a mountain where the hand of Mother Sita fell on Venus (Planet Venus is known as Shukra in Sankrit) and them incarnated as a girl named 'Kumari' in the house of King Ratnakar.
The end of Demon
Since the incarnation took place on Venus, hence 'Kuwari' or Mother Vaishno killed the demon 'Mur' and hence saved world. Lord Vishnu is known as Murari since then. After this Lord Shiva shifted the mountain on Earth and it is known as Trikuta monutain now. So Mata Vaishno is the physical form of Adi-Parashakti (Mother Parvati) with a soul of Mother Laxmi and Mind of Mother Saraswati.
