Street Style ‘Matar Kulcha’ Full of Flavour: Ready in Just 20 Minutes

Step 1

Soak a bowl of dried white peas overnight.

Step 2

Next day, add fresh water and overnight-soaked peas to a pressure cooker. Cook for 15-20 minutes on medium heat until the peas are tender.

Step 3

Mash the peas with a light hand and keep them aside.

Step 4

Heat some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 5

Turn off the heat and add roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, amchur, garam masala and chat masala. Mix well and add the cooked peas or matar into the pan.

Step 6

Turn on the heat and cook the matar for 3-4 minutes. Add jaljeera masala and mix well. You can also add a little water if required.

Step 7

Finally, mix some black salt, lemon juice, chopped tomatoes, cucumber and onions into the matar chaat.

Step 8

Apply some butter on the tawa and cook the kulchas.

Step 9

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and green chillies, and enjoy the delicious Matar Kulcha in just 20 Minutes.
