South Indian ‘Appe Recipe’: Super Delicious & Ready in 10 Minutes

Step 1

Heat some ghee or oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

Step 2

After 1-2 minutes, add some cashews. Roast them to light brown.

Step 3

Then add some curry leaves, chopped green chillies and ginger paste. Stir for a while.

Step 4

Now pour 1 cup of sooji/ rava/ semolina into the pan. Add salt and keep stirring for 4-5 minutes.

Step 5

Turn off the heat and pour some water into the pan. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Then add grated carrot, coriander leaves, yoghurt, and lemon juice to sooji and mix well. Also, add some baking powder and baking soda.

Step 7

Apply some oil to the Appa maker and fill the cups with batter.

Step 8

Cover the lid and cook until the base turns golden brown.

Step 9

Then flip the Appe and cook from the other side as well.

Step 10

Serve the yummy Appe with green chutney and coconut chutney.
