Restaurant Style ‘Dal Tadka’ Ready in 20 Minutes

Step 1

Rinse Arhar or Tuhar dal.

Step 2

Add dal, chopped tomatoes, onions, coriander, turmeric, salt and black pepper to a pressure cooker or heavy-based pan.

Step 3

Add water and boil the dal for around 15 minutes to make it mushy.

Step 4

Now, heat some desi ghee in a pan.

Step 5

Add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, hing, dry red chillies, finely chopped onion, green chillies, kasuri methi, pepper, and garam masala to the pan. Cook the tadka for 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Pour the tadka over dal. Garnish with fresh coriander and a drizzle of ghee. Enjoy the tempting Dal Tadka recipe at home.
