Crispy, Delicious South Indian ‘Medu Vada’ in Just 20 Minutes

Step 1

Wash urad dal in a large bowl and let it soak for at least 2 hours.

Step 2

Drain the water and add the urad dal to the blender along with green chillies, pepper, ginger, and curry leaves. Add some water and make a smooth batter.

Step 3

Mix some chopped onions and salt in the batter.

Step 4

Wet your hands with water and take some batter. Place it on your palm and lightly flatten it.

Step 5

Make a hole in the centre, softy, with the index finger.

Step 6

Deep fry the Medu vadas on a medium flame. Cook them till they turn golden brown.

Step 7

Serve the delicious Medu Vadas with coconut chutney, red garlic chutney and sambar.
