Why Only 23rd August For Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing?
India is now the First Country to land on the Moon’s little-explored South Pole on 23rd August 2023. Chandrayaan-3 had set off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on July 14, 2023.
But Why ISRO Choose August 23rd For Landing?
The Date marks the commencement of the Lunar Day, equivalent to 14 Earth days on the Moon’s South Pole.
The reason why 23rd August is because the Moon’s Daytime starts towards its South pole. It will help the Spacecraft to use sunlight to charge its batteries.
All the Missions tasks are possible when the Lander’s Batteries are charged.
