It is an esports tournament for a video game, Valorant, which took place for the third time. The tournament took place from 6th to 26th August 2023 in Los Angeles, Inglewood, California and the US.
There were 16 teams in total from all over the world, including four from China. The esports is extremely popular among Chinese youth.
Evil Geniuses (US) became the first North American team to win the Valorant world championship after defeating Paper Rex (Singapore) in the finals by a score of 3-1.
The prize money for the winning team was massive, 1 million dollars. And more than 11 thousand esports enthusiasts attended the event.
