Chandrayaan 3: What Happened To Chandrayaan 1&2?

Chandrayaan 3 will be a massive success as it will make India the only nation in the world to place its spacecraft on the moon’s South Pole successfully.

India will also become the 4th nation in the world to have a soft landing of an unmanned spacecraft on the moon with Chandrayaan 3.

However, before Chandrayaan 3, two more spacecraft were sent to the moon with different missions.

Chandrayaan 1

It was launched in October 2008 to orbit the lunar surface. However, it lost communication in August 2009 but has completed most of its objectives till then.

Chandrayaan 2

It was launched in August 2019 to explore the uncharted territory of the moon’s South Pole. The spacecraft lost communication on September 19, 2019.
