Stop Becoming a People Pleaser! Say Goodbye to These 7 Habits

05 February 24

Vaishnavi

A people pleaser is someone who always tries to make other people happy without thinking much of her or his own happiness and needs. This leads to stress, anxiety and worries in the long run.

1. Seeking constant validation from others

The only person you need to ask for validation is yourself. Yes, you are beautiful! Yes, you are smart! Yes, you always make the right choice! You don’t need approval from anyone else.

2. Over Apologizing

Taking accountability for your mistakes is one thing, and constantly apologising for every tiny occurrence is a completely different thing. Sometimes, ‘I’ll keep that in mind’ can go a long way.

3. Prioritising Others

YOU should be your priority no matter what! It’s good to consider other people’s needs and feelings but not at the cost of your own. Give more value to your own thoughts and emotions.

4. Always saying ‘YES’

You don’t need to say YES to everything and everyone. Start saying NO to things which makes you feel drained. Start saying NO the needs of people which costs your own well being.

5. Not taking stand for yourself

It’s your life and you have every right to live it the way you want. Start taking stand for your opinions and beliefs. Don’t agree to other people just because you don’t want to upset them.

6. Dwelling too much on the past

Everyone makes mistakes and it’s okay! Let go of the past and focus on the present. Try to become the better version of yourself now.

7. Not focusing on your own happiness

At the end of the day, what matters the most are the things which make you happy genuinely happy from inside. Focus on your happiness and live every moment upto the best.
