Ingredients

1 cup Tur Dal/Arhar Dal, 3 Tomatoes, 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder, 1 tablespoon Ghee, Curry Leaves, 2 tablespoons Butter, Salt, 2 Green Chillies, Chopped Coriander/Cilantro, Chilli Powder.

Step 1

Pressure cook the dal with tomatoes, turmeric, salt and 3 cups of water. After this, heat a ghee and butter in a pan.

Step 2

Now, add the smashed garlic and stir. You can also reduce the heat and add mustard seeds, green and red chillies, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.

Step 3

Next is to add red chili powder and give it a quick stir. You can also stir cooked dal along with 1/2 cup water. You can simmer it for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in chopped coriander and lime juice and serve Dal fry with rice and pickle.
