For most people, data gathering may be a crucial aspect of data engineering. But then, data protection is more crucial. When you've been entrusted with confidential details, it becomes your obligation to handle them with utmost care to avoid any scandalous event of data theft.

In this era, it is practically impossible to handle two or more tasks without the use of the internet. Likewise, the rate of data theft has also risen over the years. Cybercriminals are becoming smarter day by day; they now explore different techniques to scoop your data if not properly secured.

	HOW IS DATA THEFT PREVENTED?

Hackers can steal your data by planting viruses, malware, Trojans, or spyware on your device. Hence, it becomes necessary for you to up your game to avoid any compromise of your data. Sustaining the data protection policy of your organization can be costly but the price of not managing it effectively can be costlier. It can take decades to build up a brand reputation, but it only takes a silly mistake to rub it over the mud.
In this guide, we shall be discussing some of the best practices to avert data theft and improve the data protection strategy on your devices.

	1. Use A Safe Browser
Choosing the right browser is a great step toward enhancing the security of your device. A good browser has a great security tool that helps safeguard your data from cyber-criminals. Mozilla Firefox is considered the safest browser, and it's a brilliant combo to use alongside a VPN.
A dependable VPN service like VeePN provides you with numerous servers to select from to disguise your actual location and keep you unidentified when surfing the web.

VeePN offers the best Firefox VPN extension. With an advanced security feature packed in the software, you need not worry about your data privacy and security. More interestingly, you can access the VeePN service across every device.

	2. Ensure to Passcode All Your Devices
One great step toward advancing the security of your devices is to activate a passcode on them. When a passcode is enabled on your systems, it will shield your device against unauthorized access, and ensure the protection of your data.
While it is good to use a passcode on your devices, it is even more important to employ a strong passcode. The best passcodes are those that combine letters, digits, and complex characters. It is even safer to use a phrase that cannot be easily decoded by anyone.
One mistake most people make is to use the same password across all devices and systems. When a hacker gets hold of one account, they can easily hack into other devices with a simple click. If you’re concerned about remembering different complex passcodes for different devices, you can explore the use of a passcode manager.

	3. Use Virus Protection Programs
When combined with VeePN software, virus protection software can safeguard your device from virtual attacks. Moreover, most modern protection programs are packed with enhanced tools that can detect different forms of malware and spyware and also help you block annoying ads that can trick you into clicking unknown links ignorantly.
There are several ways that scammers can use to steal your data. But then, the use of VeePN alongside virus protection programs will keep you on a safer side.

	4. Prevent Data Theft with Your Employees by Limiting Access
What is the use of a key if it can be accessed by everyone? Access to data is not an exception in this case. When too many persons are given access to a set of data, the risk of a breach will become high. When more than one person can access some information, it is easier for it to land in the hands of criminals.

Thus, only specific individuals should be given privileged access to certain data to avoid breaches or compromise. More so, if there is data leakage, it can easily be trailed and rectified. The greater the number of access to certain data, the greater the risk of leakage and likewise the stress in tracking it.

	5. Equip Staff on Data Security Education
It is often stated that ignorance is a cankerworm that kills faster than hunger. Educating staff in an organization on the importance of data security is vital.
Sometimes, workers may breach confidential data without even knowing, which is why they should be trained in data protection.
Installing data protection programs on your devices may not be adequate, data protection consciousness can go a long way.

	CONCLUSION
Protecting the security of devices should be of primer importance for everyone. Unfortunately, there has been an upsurge in data shoplifting and racketing. Above are tips that conform with industry standards on data security to help you prevent data theft on your devices. With the use of VeePN, data theft on your device will be averted. VeePN has been rated as the best VPN service provider, and it is available for all devices.

Android phones are hotcakes. They are versatile, easy to use, and highly recommended. But one big disadvantage of an Android phone is its open-source programming. It means anyone can copy it, customize it and access it. That is why it is highly recommended to keep your Android device secured at all times.

	What are Android security features?

Thankfully, Android phones come with various security features such as biometrics, two-step authentication, security patch-ups, and several more. Android phones are ideal to use; it just depends upon the way you use them.
How can I improve my Android security?
Many Android users worry about what are the tips for maintaining the safety and security of mobile devices? If you follow Android rules and change your behaviour, securing a smartphone and enjoying maximum benefits is extremely easy.

	1. Install VPN:

VPN apps are widely available in the market, and the VeePN app is the best and recommended for your Android smartphone. VeePN efficiently encrypts your data with bank-level security, allows unlimited browsing, and can be installed in a few easy steps.

A VPN APK download masks your identity prevents data throttling and Man In The Middle attacks, and gives you access to restricted data. VeePN secures your Android smartphone while increasing your internet speed.

	2. Keep your OS Updated:

Perhaps, this is the most underrated security step, but extremely important to protect your phone and data. Always pay attention to security updates and install them as soon as possible. These updates include necessary patches and debugging essential to make your experience smooth and risk-free.

	3. Update Apps:

Another useful step to make your smartphone more secure is updating your apps now and then. It excludes the risk of data leaks, and cyber security, and patches any vulnerability by an authentic developer. You can turn on automatic updates in Google Play to avoid doing it manually.

	4. Don’t Install Apps from Third Party:

You need to change your behavior when it comes to your Android phone security. Pay attention to the sources you download or install applications and other data. Always download your apps from Play Store and avoid Third Party downloads at all costs. Enable the ask permission option for any downloads to prevent automatic and often harmful malware downloads.

	5. Enable Finger And Face Lock:

Android comes with several fantastic features to make it more secure and personal. Biometrics is another example that makes unlocking your phone next to impossible. Go to settings and enable both face recognition and fingerprint lock. This makes it hard for strangers to unlock your phone and access your data without your permission.

	6. Use Secure Wi-fi:

Everyone loves free Wi-Fi, it feels like music to ears, but our sincere advice would be not to connect to open public Wi-Fi as it poses serious data security threats. Do not log in to bank applications, do not shop online, and do not share personal information online in public places, as you never know who else is also on that network. There is a strong chance that the public Wi-Fi is set up by a hacker and they prey upon innocent people this way. Always connect your phone to Data, personal hotspot, or secure Wi-Fi networks.

	7. Enable Two-Step Authentication:

Two-step authentication reduces the chances of cyber attacks and keeps snoopers at bay. It adds another layer to data security and needs verification from the primary owner. You can always go to your Google settings and check if you have enabled this method.

	8. Enable And Run Play Protect:

Play Protect is a blessing as it comes with extremely tight security features and acts like an antivirus. First, ensure that you have enabled Play Protect on your phone. It sends you immediate alerts, regularly runs checkups on the installed apps, and notifies you about unused apps, app permission and is an excellent app manager.

	9. Manage App Permissions:

Android has many useful features that help you protect your data efficiently, and one of them is the App permissions option. As many apps have access to your camera, record voice, and storage, it becomes risky when these apps lie dormant. It is wise to delete all those apps you no longer use as they pose a grave security threat to your data. A racing game app doesn’t need access to contacts or need to make phone calls whatsoever! Always be cautious when you are installing any app.

	10. Download your Data And Keep A Backup:

Having a backup of phone data is a necessity. Always download and backup your data to a secure location. In case of device theft, at least you will have your pictures, contacts, and important files.

	Conclusion:

Along with the above Android protection methods, manage your passwords efficiently, connect to secure networks only, install apps from Play Store, and use Google’s highly efficient Find My Phone option in case you misplace it.

Up until the release of the iPhone 8, most smartphones came with a single lens on the rear. But in 2017, Samsung and Apple added a second lens to the Galaxy S8 and iPhone X models, starting a trend that has continued through to today.

TYPES OF REFURBISHED GOODS

Let us now look at the different categories that the refurbished goods can be placed into. For lucid understanding, we have a flow chart reading which can make it easier for anyone to grasp the concept of refurbished goods in India.

Refurbished mobile mainly has two categories:-

As mentioned above, refurbished goods can be divided into two broad categories. One is the Pre-owned mobiles category while the other is the Products with manufacturing defects category. It is quite easy to understand the differences between these two categories. These categories are very different from each other and you need to know what they mean before you proceed to buying or purchasing any refurbished mobile or good for your personal use.

Refurbished products are also known as factory second, renewed or restored products so do not get confused anywhere when these products are mentioned interchangeably. If you are looking to know what these multiple categories of the refurbished goods are, we are getting to that in a moment. Keep reading this blog to understand the basics of refurbished products and mobiles and where you can purchase them online.

Further they have sub-categories which i am mentioning in my next section.

As I have mentioned earlier that refurbished products are not the rejected products but due to some issues they are sold after inspection and updation. Here are the types of refurbished products that lies under the category of refurbishment -

Pre-Owned Mobiles-

This is the category in which customers use the product for one week or two and then they return the product. If you an online shopper, i am sure you have returned products after using it for few days, It does not mean that product has a defect, sometimes customers just change their mind to use the product or they get better mobile in the same price.

This type of device has three sub-categories:-

1- Demo/floor product of the brand- These are the mobiles which are used by the company as a working model to the customers.

2- Open box products- Open box products are the one which were ordered but returned by the customers without using that.So before selling them again, these mobiles are tested again and set to factory settings.

3- Model of the product that is promoted by bloggers/youtubers- Whenever a new model of mobile is launched, it is promoted by bloggers and youtubers. And some of them are returned by bloggers/youtubers. So in that case these returned mobiles are checked and updated again to sell in the market.

Product with manufacturing defect-

Devices under this category have some manufacturing defects. For example if a mobile has a scratch on its screen then it will come under manufacturing defect.there are two types under this category:-

1-Products with minor defect- While manufacturing sometimes products get damaged,so they are processed again and comes the category of refurbished mobiles.

2-Product damaged while shipping- Sometimes device get damaged while shipping and it is returned by the customer. So in this case it is processed again to sell in the market.

WHAT DOES REFURBISHMENT PROCESS INVOLVE

It takes seven steps to refurbish a mobile completely,so that it looks like a new phone and gives customer the same quality and experience. These seven steps are involved in making a defective or old mobile as brand new:-

Content check

Complete format

Functionality check

Cosmetic check

Repair

Replacement (if required)

Software update and content upgrading if required

So these are the steps which are followed by companies while refurbishing a mobile. Let me explain these steps:-

1-Content check- Since it is the first step,so primary testing of the mobile is done over here. Once the testing is done a report is generated about the issues of mobile phone.

2-Complete format- Once the issue with the device is diagnosed, mobile is again reset to its factory settings.

3-Functionality check-In third step after phone is set to its factory settings(default settings),it is checked whether phone is working properly. All the applications and functions are checked at that time.

4-Cosmetic check- In this section the hardware parts of the mobile goes under inspection. And if there is any issue with hardware it is added to the refurbishing report of the device.

5-Repair- Once the report is generated, manufacturers starts working according to the report and repair the device. From its functions to its hardware everything is repaired.

6-Replacement- In this step if there is an issue with any hardware part of the mobile,it is replaced by new part. But this happens when the part can not be repaired.

7-Software upgrade and content upgrading if required- As we all know that every software gets an upgrade after sometime. So if there is any update that is available, will be updated in this final step.

REASONS WHY MOBILES ARE SOLD AS REFURBISHED PRODUCTS

1- Companies sell their demo/floor models as refurbished goods,so that they can get at least their investment back.

2- Mobiles which are reviewed by youtubers and bloggers, are not used actually and can be used as new device that is why they are sold as refurbished mobiles.

3- Refurbished mobiles can also increase the sale of the model.

4- It also helps to save the environment and there are many people who are intrested in refurbished mobiles

5- market of refurbished goods is increasing day by day and companies are getting profit from there as well,so this is another reason to sell the reconstructed products.

Now you are clear with the concept of restored mobile, the next question that will come to your mind is,how is it beneficial for a customer like you and shall you buy some mobiles?

Should you buy Refurbished Mobiles?

1- They are cheaper than their actual market price.

2- You can get the better technology that too at low cost.

3- If the damaged part got some problem again then it will be replaced.

4- You will get almost all the services that are available for a new phone.

5- If you buy a refurbished mobile,it means that you are not spending your money on a depreciating asset.

6- These mobiles are tested so many times,so you do not have to worry about the quality.

IS IT GOOD TO BUY REFURBISHED GOODS?

Mobiles that comes under the category of refurbished mobiles are inspected, updated and restored already so you do not have to worry about the quality of these mobiles.

Many sites provide the warranty and the certificate with the product so that whenever you face any difficulty while using the mobile you can ask the company to fix it.

Also one of my friend have purchased a refurbished model of samsung J7 and it looks like a new phone and functions properly. He is using that mobile from 6 months and have not faced any kind of problem.

In this case, he got a certificate with the product which clearly mentions the previous issue with the product and had a full 1 year warranty just like it is available with a new mobile phone.

So from my point of view, it is totally fine to purchase factory second mobiles, because i think this is the best possible way to get the latest technology without any burden on your pocket. But before making any purchase, make sure you do your own research and take mobiles which comes with OEM warranty.

THINGS TO BE CHECKED WHILE PURCHASING FACTORY SECOND GOODS

Though refurbished mobiles are not rejected or used mobiles but still there are some key points that you should check while purchasing these products-

1- FACTORY SETTINGS- Always check the phone whether it is on factory setting or not,if you find any sign of previous info then my friend the phone is not remodelled.

2-ESN NUMBER- ESN number is electronic serial number which is the unique number that is provided to the device, with the help of this number you can get other information as well. So always check this number below the battery of your mobile phone.

3- WARRANTY AND RETURN POLICY- You should always check the warranty period and the return policy of the company,so that you can claim if something went wrong.

4-NAME OF THE BRAND- It affects the quality of the product,if you take factory second product of a good brand there are more chances that you get the product of good quality that too at less price.

This happens because big brands have their image in market and they have to maintain it because of that you can get the good product at cheaper price.

5- DETAILS OF RESTORED PART- Always try to get the issue with your phone,so that you can understand your device in a better manner.

6-ACCESSORIES- Check for the details of accessories, check whether you are getting the mentioned accessories or not. And also check the quality of those accessories.

7- MODEL HISTORY- Some model of the smartphones have a specific mechanical problem or operating system problem which cannot be removed even after restoring,so always check this problem as well.

8- LOCKED OR UNLOCKED- Before buying the factory second mobile phone always check whether the mobile is locked or unlocked. Because if it is locked then it will not work with some specific providers, which may create problem for you in future.

9-MANUFACTURER AND RETAILER- Always check the manufacturer and retailer of the mobile phone and check their ratings and review as well so that you can get the right product even if it is refurbished.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN USED MOBILE AND REFURBISHED MOBILE

Used mobiles and refurbished mobiles are entirely different terms and people in india have misconception that these two terms have same meaning.okay let me clear your misunderstanding :-

USED MOBILES (Second hand mobile)- Second hand mobile is used by someone previously and then sold at less price after some time, but this mobile may have some issues whether it is related to hardware or any functional issue.

These used mobiles do not have any kind of warranty, and this may create a problem for buyer in future.Second hand mobiles may have some manufacturing damage as well and it is possible that you spend lots of money just to fix that damage.

Now if we talk about refurbished mobiles then, scenario is different over here:-

REFURBISHED MOBILES- These mobiles are basically reprocessed devices. Mobiles that are returned by the customers, bloggers etc. or mobiles that have small manufacturing defects are processed again after inspection.Once they are processed they are packed for sale in the market.

Refurbished mobiles are nearly equal to the new device and you also get warranty on these devices.Since these mobiles are checked properly and certified by manufacturer you will not any kind of problem in future.

If we talk about the price it is less than the MRP of new product, but still the quality is maintained unlike second hand products.

OTHER WAYS TO AVAIL REFURBISHED MOBILE IN LESS PRICE

If even after buying the refurbished mobile you are out of your budget,no worries! There are some sites on which you can exchange your phone with refurbished mobile. Also if you want to sell your mobile for its appropriate value you can do that too.

So lets start:-

Cashify.in- On this site you can sell your electronic product. This site provides the appropriate value for your device. Another thing that i like about this site is, it provides free pick up facility. Which is a great thing because you do not have to waste your time to find a store to sell your device.

The site will provide you the instant payment just after the pick up.This site has partners like amazon.in, shopclues, Samsung, Lenovo etc.

Flipkart.com- Flipkart also provides the exchange offer to its customer,so if you have any issue regarding the budget to buy a new mobile, you can use this feature.

Another question that arises in mind is about 4G refurbished mobiles. And the question is 4G mobiles should be purchased online or not?

SHOULD I BUY 4G REFURBISHED MOBILE ONLINE?

My answer to this question will be a YES, and i can give you some valid points to explain my answer to you.

Everyone wants to use the latest technology, if it is about the internet then you have to agree that after JIO plans, everyone want to use 4G mobile phones.

For some people it is not possible to afford the cost of latest 4G mobile phones, then the solution that is left with you people is either you buy second hand mobile or a refurbished mobile(which is nearly equal to a new phone). And my choice will be buying a 4G refurbished mobile instead of second hand mobile. Let me explain why:-

1- If you prefer to buy a 4G refurbished mobile online, then you will get all the information about the issues(that have been solved) with your device. This will help you to know your device in a better way.

2- If you bought a 4G refurbished mobile from any online store, you can get the better offers.

Sites like valuecart.in which is specially designed for refurbished mobile provides amazing deals on refurbished mobile as well.

3- Device that you will purchase from online store, will be inspected and updated, unlike second hand mobile which may create issues because it is not tested again.

4- Since refurbished mobiles are nearly equal to new mobiles,so you will get all the services from the seller that are provided to a new phone.

5-Even if you buy a 4G refurbished mobile from a factory second store, you will not get the warranty on the device. But online stores provide the warranty on these mobiles as well.

Note- warranty period of refurbished mobile is not equal to new device.

BENEFITS OF USING REFURBISHED MOBILE OVER USED MOBILES

You will get second hand (used) mobile and refurbished mobile almost at same price, but there are some benefits that you will get only if you are using refurbished mobile:-

Warranty period

Product quality

Accessories

Life span

Let’s discuss about these points in details:-

WARRANTY PERIOD- if you purchase a refurbished mobile, you will get the warranty period like you get with the new device but in case of second hand mobile this is not possible.

Since refurbished mobiles are tested and updated by manufacturer before resale but in case of second hand mobile things are not same. You will not get any warranty for second hand mobiles.

PRODUCT QUALITY- I have told you earlier that refurbished mobile is nearly equal to new mobile, because the issues with the device are inspected and fixed before sale so in that way the quality of these mobiles is way more better than used mobiles.

Since second hand mobiles are not inspected before sale,so it is really difficult for new user to find that what is the issue with his/her device. In that case the problem with the device cannot be fixed and it affects the quality of the product.

ACCESSORIES- In case of used mobiles it is possible that you will not get all the accessories with phone, and in that case you have to buy that accessory by spending extra money. But in case of refurbished mobiles you will get all the accessories which are mentioned in details of the product.

LIFESPAN- lifespan of a device depends upon the issues and the way of handling the device.if a mobile have hardware and functionality issues then it will not have a good life span.

In case of refurbished mobiles the issues with the device are fixed by manufacturers or the sellers which improves the lifespan of device.

if we talk about used mobile then the things are not same, since these mobiles are not checked properly so in that case the hidden issues will affect the quality and lifespan of product.

The company is looking to launch feature phones with voice over LTE (VoLTE) capability targeting rural and TIER 3 markets for their mobile business and data services . According to a report of Economic times the prices would be as low as INR 1000 with free and they would come bundled up with unlimited voice call, data ,video calling and other basic digital content . There would be two models priced at INR 1000 & 1500 and reported to hit the market by first quarter of 2017.

Key Features :

The VoLTE feature phones will have Keypads

Front facing & Rear cameras

Will run on lighter version of Android Operating System

Will have Jio’s pre-installed apps such as Jio chat, Jio Live TV, Video on demand and Jio Money

Jio is planning to push it’s digital wallet service Jio money through these feature phones . It is interesting to note that Reliance Jio is the only telecom network in India to have VoLTE service . Jio which added 25 million subscribers in the shortest span of time from 5th September 16 till date, aims at acquiring 100 million users through these phones .Primary aim is to capture the rural and tier 3 markets . India is currently third in the world in terms of Mobile users and 60% of users still use feature phones . This move if implemented properly can prove to b masterstroke by Reliance telecom in taking the lead in the feature phone market .

This is not for the first time a for a telecom company to come up with such an offer . Few months back Freedom 251 announced the launch of cheapest smartphone at INR 251 . It received millions of registrations within few hours of the launch . Later on it turned out to be a dupe much to the people’s disappointment ,with government intervention customers were able to get their money back . Although reliance has managed to build the trust by already providing users free unlimited data and voice calls, we hope this not to be just another hoax .

Paytm has been touching social issues in its recent ads, from an earlier ad where a relative transfer a few Paytm bucks to this ad which shows the dream of every common man in India, Paytm has been glowing a step ahead in terms of brand projection while connecting itself to social dreams.

Here, in this new ad, Paytm has shown what a cashless nation would be. More or less, what a cashless & corruption-less nation would be. There are 3 parts in the ads. First part shows a typical Sharmaji-Guptaji Govt. official stereotype taking ‘vada-paw’ as a token of friendship, not as a bribe. Second part shows a traffic police constable and the third part goes with the donation scene in an Indian education institute, where the donation actually is a box full of books.

The ad is touching and is successful in propagating the brand proposition (which is Paytm Wallet) taking the date of release as Indian Independence Day. have a look at the ad :
