Punjabi Rajma Chawal Recipe: Make it in 30 Minutes

There are numerous ingredients required, such as 1 cup rice, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 cup red kidney beans, 2 large onions, 2 green cardamoms, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, 2 large tomatoes, etc.

Step 1

You need to soak the Rajma in water overnight. Wash it and pressure cook with 2 cups of water and turmeric. When rajma gets soft, remove it from heat.

Step 2

After this, chop onions and keep aside. You need to grate the tomatoes and keep them aside. Starting making a paste of ginger, garlic and green chillies.

Step 3

Prepare the Rajma by adding mustard oil, add green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon, clove, peppercorn. After this, add onion and cook till they are golden brown. Add Tomatoes, too!

Step 4

Next is to add ginger- garlic-chili paste, cumin powder, coriander powder and black pepper powder. After this, add the rajma and one cup of water. Mix it and cook for 10 mins.

Step 5

Want to steam rice? Wash 1 cup of rice in running water. Add them to a Pan with 4-5 cups of water in it. Strain the water when the rice is soft.

Step 6

Wait for 2-3 minutes to make rice cool by spreading the rice on a plate. Serve your prepared rajma and rice to your family. I hope they like your cooking skills.
