The gizmo can currently accommodate up to three tubes of printing ingredients and layers the ingredients before the food can be baked in the oven. The three layers of the ingredients can be anything from a or dough, tomato sauce and cheese to form a pizza or a cookie dough mixture with a layer of chocolate for decorating biscuits. Before pressing “Print”, one can also decorate the baked goods.

It’s expected that the gizmo will be used in bakeries and on a large scale before people start using it at their homes. Currently in the concept stage, a consumer version of the gadget is predicted to cost in the region of €1,800 (£1,312 or $2035).

The company is also working on developing other dishes with the printer. At the same time it is also obtaining licenses from food companies for the ingredients.
